Strep throat is a bacterial infection that causes inflammation and pain in the throat. This common is caused by a group of bacteria which is known as A Streptococcus bacteria. This infection may affect children and adults of all ages.

It is mainly common in children between 5 and 15 years. Sneezing and coughing can spread the infection from one person to the other.

There are a variety of things involved like the common cold, a serious virus or allergies. It may cause a sore throat. How will you able to understand whether it is strep throat or something else?

Symptoms of Strep Throat

● You may also see a red, sandpaper-like rash that starts in your face and neck area. Afterwards, it spreads to the rest of the body. This could be the symptoms of scarlet fever.

● You should call the doctor if you or your little one show such symptoms of strep throat.

What is not similar to strep throat?

People easily confuse strep throat symptoms with other conditions. You need to know what is not.

Firstly, strep throat is not a virus. Viruses cannot be cured with antibiotics.

It does not occur with a runny nose or a cough or red eyes. These are mainly the signs of a virus or allergy.

Symptoms or suffering from strep throat is not life-threatening. If you leave it untreated, strep throat may lead to a more serious complication.

It Spreads Easily

The bacteria that cause strep throat are highly contagious. You can spread it by coming in close contact. This includes sneezes and handshakes or even sharing someone else's items.

Make sure that you are washing your hands now and then. Be cautious about touching objects when someone is your house is suffering from strep throat.
